How to Maintain Waves After a Haircut: Avoid Wave Loss

I was growing my hair out while at the same time developing my wave pattern. Once my waves got pretty defined I decided to cut it. I cut my hair with oster classics blade 2 against the grain and within two days my waves were gone!! Should I cut with the grain next time or do you have any suggestions on how not to lose my waves next time??

Well, what you did was fine. Your waves did not disappear but just got lighter as your hair was cut down. Next time after you cut it, wash your hair, use wave grease, and throw a wave cap or doo rag on. DO NOT go with the grain if you are cutting your own hair you can leave patches it it if you have swirls!
