Understanding 24K Gold Markings on Jewelry

i have a bracelet i believe is gold marked.....
24k g.l
what does that mean

If this is the marking on the bracelet, then they are claiming that it is 24 Karat, Fine Gold.

If that is the case then it should be very soft??

Its a bit hard to say what it may otherwise be but that is what the symbol denotes. I assume that it was purchased from a reputable dealer?
