Identifying Antique Men's Bracelet: Markings & Origin

Question
I own a bracelet which was my father's. It is marked "18K" and has a fleur-de-lis with two stylized angled slashes in the top and bottom of the f-d-l, and the marking is stamped.  How would I find out who made the bracelet and its' approximate age?  I know Dad wore this after his return from Europe during Korean War, but beyond that have no data.

Answer
G'day Mac and many thanks for your query

However I am unable to help you as the FDL is not a standard country hallmark, yet it continues to pop up its ugly head from time to time without answers?

You would think that the fleur-de-lis would have some French or Belgium link - but none I can find.

It may very well be a Maker's Mark, but as there is no central WORLD registry for such marks means it is very hard to track down.

You might like to add this to my blog at: http://how2valuejewelry.com/ as someone else may have come across the problem and can give more information. Can't harm anyway....

Sorry I can't be more helpful.
