Reattaching a Loose Pearl: Safe & Effective Methods

Question
I have a ring that a small fresh water pearl has come off it's post.  Is it safe to use superglue to reglue it back on?

Answer
The pearl should be secure on the post PRIOR to gluing it down.....here is how to do it:
With a pair of FLAT pliers, Gently squeeze and flatten the post almost flat. Now try the attaching the pearl onto the post WITHOUT any glue....it should fit much tighter now....gently remove the pearl off the post and apply SUPERGLUE by dropping a bead on a piece of paper and use a pin or other very thin object to place the glue from the bead onto the post...you dont need alot....if you use too much it will get on the pearl and when it dries it will leave a film...you will also get the glue on your fingers and its hard to remove.....if you get your fingers glued together, you may use ACETONE (nail polish remover) to remove the glue.
Good luck......the alternative is to take the ring into a jeweler who also has a shop on premise and have them do it for you for a slight fee  5.00-10.00 US Dollars...
all the best
