Polishing & Cutting Rough Gemstones: A Guide for Beginners

Hi,

I was doing some searching on the internet and came across your names.  I have some rough cut rubies and saphires and I was wondering how I would go about, I am not sure how to say it, but polish them or finish them off or cut them so they look like normal gemstones that would would buy from a jeweler

Hello Eric and thank you for your inquiry. In order to make your gemstones saleable you could go a couple of ways - you could sell them "raw" to lapidary shops or learn to cut and finish them yourself. You would need to take a course in gemstone cutting and finishing and may find some assistance at the following site:
