White Gold Testing: Accuracy & Best Methods

QUESTION: Will white gold test the same as yellow gold using the acids in bottles that can be had?   A follow up if you will, are there good and bad acid testers?  One better than the other I mean?   Thanks, Jim

ANSWER: Acid is only as good as it is mixed and maintained. All acid bottles have separate indicators and are pre mixed very carfully.
I dont use acids I use a Tri Elelctronics Tester. Its better and more accurate.
Best have it tested by a pro. There are many mistakes you can make doing it yourself. We only charge 25.00 dollars for a test. Believe me it's well worth letting a pro do it.

Answer
With an electric tester you need to file and scratch through the outer layer and clean it thoroughly.
Use a small amount of gel and follow the instructions very carefully on the unit.

I dont do acid testing so I can't help you with that.
