QuestionQUESTION: Hi, good day. I wanted to ask if it's possible for 21K purity to be white gold? I am interested in buying some ring settings from Thailand and I was told they are of 21K purity, however I am not too sure as I have never seen white gold rings made of 21k gold. Any insights on this? Also, if they are white gold, how can they be tested? Are the digital/electronic testers accurate in testing white gold jewelry? Thank you!
ANSWER: Yes it is possible. The digital acid based testers do work you just have to be careful to buy the correct brand. Which one were you looking to buy???

QUESTION: Hi Les thanks for the reply. I don't have any brand in mind, any suggestions? And are they user friendly to people who are not really professionals in testing? THanks!
Answerthere is only one brand which is decent and even those you have to get used to....wont give an accurate read until you file into the items, for instance a plated item will show 18KT when in reality under the plating its silver or base metal....you have to know what you are doing with any test kit.
read the directions and be careful or you may pay someone more than its worth and you could loose money.
I believe Kassoy in New York has the better ones
