Identifying Vintage Jeweled Hair Comb - Seeking Maker Information

Question

Signed hair comb
Do you know who made this - I can not find anything even close on the maker or perhaps where I might look.
Thank you- this is a large tortise shell hair comb with over 100 (look like diamonds) and 4 amythists.  I believe it is rather old.  It was from a great Aunt who died in her 90 over 35 years ago.  Don't know when she got it.

Answer
Hello Gerilynn and thank you for your inquiry. I haven't been able to find the maker yet, but I am still looking. You might want to have it appraised by an estate or jewelry appraiser if you believe the stones may be genuine. You might also check your local book store or library for books on ladies accessories. One in particular is "Ladies Vintage Accessories" by Bruton. You might also check out the following article - just copy and paste it into your browser address field:

I have several books left to go through and hopefully I will find something. If so, I will get back with you. Good luck and enjoy your beautiful comb !
