QuestionHi there, I have lost one of a pair of earrings. I was wondering if yuo could help me try to find where I could buy one similar or even if I could get another pair made?
This is a stud earring which is white gold with a tiny diamond (although I do not think an actual diamond) in the middle.
I have looked in lots of jewellery shops but can not find the right one anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.
I tried to photo the ear ring I have but it is so tiny I cant even photo it.
AnswerSara, trying to find a match is almost impossible unless you know the manufacturer of the earrings or where the original purchase is made. If so, perhaps that store can get you a new one to make it a pair again.
Otherwise, go to a jeweler not to look at earrings but to show your single. Choose a shop which has a bench jeweler there working. A bench jeweler is the one who actually does jewelry work, yes, at a bench. : )
There are many supply houses selling basic jewelry "findings", meaning the parts to make jewelry. Such findings include earring settings without stones. A good jeweler shop should be able to get the parts and from those make you a matching earring. They can let you know if an exact match is not possible. In that case, your may decide to have a pair made, using a stone supplied by you and one from the shop.
Sara, from my experience, these are my best recommendations.
If you need to follow-up on this question, feel free to do so. However, keep in mind I will be gone a few days and follow-up will not work until I return. Thanks for the question and best wishes with the matching earring.
God Bless and Peace. Thomas.
