Identifying French Brooches: Style & Age Analysis

Hi Steven,
Can you help me to identify an approximate age and style of this brooch? Bought in France with another one, in a similar heart-looking shape but in a pure Art Nouveau design. I would think both came from the same source but this one doesn't look Art Nouveau to me. What do you think it could be?

AnswerHi Leah, Looks to me that this item has a couple influences incorporated into it. First is of course the Art Nouveau period with the flowing lines and intricate work and then the Asian influence of the dragons. Overall a design of these combinations and not just one style. Good luck.
