i am looking to start a collection of rocks and minerals where would be a good place to buy them from

Good afternoon Duncan, I believe there are many clubs and organizations that can be a resource for you, plus rock and mineral shows. You can probably find these by Googling each. If you ever get tate side the Tucson gem shows are great for this each February. Good luck.
