What do you have to do to rocks and minerals to create wearable jewelry?

Hello,

Firstly you would want pretty gemstone quality rocks.  Then you would saw the rocks into slabs, and then into cubes, then preform with diamond cutting wheels then finish by faceting if clear stones or cabbing if stones like lapis that light does not pass through. Then we polish either to make them beautiful.  Then these stones can be mounted into jewelry.
