Decoding Your Diamond Ring: Understanding 'MW3 15' and 14k Stamps

Question
I have a older diamond ring that is stamped with MW3 15 it has the 14k stamp as well. I was hoping you could shed some light on this for me. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Linsey,

This type of stamp is known as the "makers mark" that designates the manufacturer of the piece and any model identification. I am not familiar with this particular stamp because there are literally thousands of them but you can research it on the internet under "makers marks" in each country and language. This would make a good lifes work. However if not knowing doesn't bother you then just appreciate it for what it is, a beautiful diamond ring.
