Maintaining Individuality in Marriage: Is Personal Time Essential?

Question
I'm currently engaged and before I get married I need to be sure of some things. My fiance and I have lived together for the past three and half years, we work the same hours and live in a one bedroom apartment. Lately I've been going to Detroit to visit my sister just for a mini get away. Well I like going up there because I have so much fun with my sis. My question is, "Is it okay in a marriage even starting off, to have time for just yourself?
Sometimes I feel the need to just be away, and I was wondering if that is a bad sign. I love him, but I don't want him to be up under me 24/7. Please let me know if I'm wrong

Answer
Hello Sita,
Part of a healthy relationship is being able to have your own space. There is nothing wrong getting away once in awhile. If your fiance has no problem with it,then don't worry about it.He should do the same thing once in awhile too.
