Vaginismus vs. Anatomical Short Vaginal Syndrome: Understanding Physical Causes

Question
Hi there

Me and my wife have a problem. Her vigina is simply too small to have sex. We have been referred to a Sexologist by a Gynaecologist who told her the problem was in her mind (i.e. Vaginismus). After months of unsuccessful therapy with the Sexologist we made an appointment with another Gynaecologist. This Gynaecologist did a sonar and told us that her vigina was in fact simply too small. That means the problem is physical and not psychological. She suggested that my wife use a candle to "stretch" her vaginal mussels. This proved to be too painful for her.

We really do not know what to do anymore. Please help.

Answer
steven;

well i am sure the doctors know whats best,but its hard to deal with,by any mean.

many women with this problem feel guilty,depressed,or anxious. the negative feelings can strain intimacy between a couple.
because of this,its import to look for a solutions to this problem,rather than avoid sex or suffer in silence. women who take charge of the problem and seek active solutions tend to do better emotionally,and have a more intimate relationship with their partner,than women who passively endure the problem.

i feel you both can endure this together,and here are somethings to try;
-vary your positions,try different ones,while trying sexual relations;
-vaginal lubricant,it may help;
-progressive muscle relaxation;

as you said above,about stretching the vaginal opening,while it may work.

i suggest seeing another doctor,she may need a surgery,to help;
