Irregular Periods: What to Know & When to See a Doctor

Question
im a 24 year old and lately ive noticed my period is coming earlier and earlier like last month till now has only been 18 days since my last period and its extremely frustrating to get get a period every 18 days do you no whats wrong ?

Answer
A period is considered normal if it is 21-35 days from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period. If you are getting your period only 18 days from the first day of your previous period, it is, indeed, too short and you evidently have some hormonal imbalance. YOu should see a gynecologist and go on birth control pills in order to regulate your cycle. Birth control pills will regulate your cycle so that you will get a period every 28 days.
