QuestionI was just wondering if you could tell me some ways to help get pregnant. My fiance & I have been trying for almost 3 years now to have a baby & nothing has happened yet. I really want to have a child, I love kids. I would be devistated if I couldn't have any. Please help me out. I would greatly appreciate it.
AnswerDear Jacqueline,
I am always so surprised my most common questions on this site are how do I get pregnant and how do I know if I am pregnant.
I guess for me I have learned my bodies signals so well I could practically tell you the day my body releases my egg and the exact day my period will start, how many weeks pregnant I am, etc.
But alas I have to remember that I have had years to learn such things and they have not always come so easily. But number one rule is to learn about your bodies signals. Know your body. It is a necessary thing to know your body.
You should type in tracking ovulation into your search engine and go past the first few sites that are simply trying to sell you useless tracking kits and charts that you can do with a notebook, pencil, and digital thermometer and a little know how. Move down to the informational sites and you will find that they will explain in detail how to track your basal temperature. This is number one, in the sites they will explain what this means, and what it shows us. Next you will need to track your vaginal secretions. When you ovulate your vaginal secretions become very clear and almost slimy, if you will. This is the time when you will find that you may need to wipe more than once while using the restroom as you feel that you are still wet in your vaginal area. This is because the vaginal mucuos is so liquidy that you notice it. During the rest of the month it starts to dry up, you may notice the difference if you have intercourse weekly the difference in your lubrication. Those times when you don't really need any help with lubrication are the times when you have most likely ovulated. Our bodies are actually very easy to read if we only learn how to do so. So don't be embarassed to examine the vaginal mucous, when it is slippery between your fingers you are most likely fertile. Now remember also that if you are having intercourse a lot say 3+ times a week your fiances sperm count will also be low so when trying to fertilize you should hold intercourse to limited times once you learn of your cycle.
I hope this helps and best of luck. Remember tracking fertility.
God Bless,
Dawn
