im 15weeks pregnant and i drank on the weekend.i am just concerned because the next day i had lower back pain and lower abdominal cramps. if anythting was going to happen to baby would it of happend by now?

Most likely you would have seen any immediate adverse reactions by now. It also depends on how much alcohol you had consumed. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is said to be a possible birth defect if the mother of an unborn child drinks at all throughout pregnancy. It is unknown why some people who consume alcoholic beverages, while they are pregnant, do give birth to a child with FAS and some do not. I do suggest that you refrain from drinking any alcoholic beverages throughout the remainder of your pregnancy. I also suggest speaking with your obstetrician whom is familiar with your care.
