HCG Injections and Pregnancy: Possible False Positives?

Question
I've been taking Novarel+B12 injections(.5cc) for weight loss.  I was due for my period yesterday and it did not come, so I took a home pregnancy test yesterday and one this morning, and they were both positive.  It's been 11 days since my last injection.  Is it still possible to get a false positive with such a low dosage?  I talked to my OB-GYN's office this morning & they told me that they would not do blood work until I have been 3 weeks without a shot because it would show a false positive.  Everywhere else that I have check online said that the HCG should be out of my system in 10-14 days?  What do you think?

Answer
I would wait two weeks to take another pregnancy test. By then the medication will be out of your system and the pregnancy test should give an accurate result. If you want to check earlier, have two blood tests for pregnancy (Beta HCG) 48 hours apart. If there is a doubling of the results in 48 hours, it indicates a viable pregnancy and is not influenced by any shots you may have taken 11 days ago. Good Luck.
