Understanding hCG Levels and Potential Miscarriage: A Detailed Explanation

Question
hello, my whole pregnancy has been a mystery to me and my doctor. well i found out i was preganant at 5 weeks. my first blood test was 2100 hgc. then 1750hgc, then 1128hgc. we had a ultrasound at 7 weeks when my beta was only at 1128 and the baby grew fine and had a strong heartbeat. then 2 days later i pass what looked like the sac. i bled for a few days almost a week.when i went back to my doctors office a week after i passed the sac ( i guess thats what it was), my beta level had gone up from 1128, to 1500. have you ever seen it go up like that after you passed the pregnacy? i have another u/s wednesday and more bloodwork. but could i still be pregnant? whats going on with me? please give me your input on this. thanks

Answer
Hello Kristine. Yes, you could still be pregnant and perhaps you passed a twin embryo. OR, you could be NOT pregnant and your hormones are just taking time to rebalance. Only time will tell my dear- I hope it turns out the way you want it to. All the best- Cheri.
