High Fetal Heart Rate (190 BPM): Causes & Concerns
QuestionMy daughter is having a baby the end of Dec. she is 20. the baby's heartrate is @ 190 dr.s are concerned. sending her for tests, what could it be? i am a very worried Grandmother to be. Thanks Karen
AnswerThe normal heartbeat of a fetus is between 120 and 160. A heartbeat that is 190 is too high and may indicate infection. A CBC should be done and your daughter's temperature should be taken. She should drink plenty of fluids and her doctor must do an evaluation.
