Low Estrogen & Menopause Symptoms: HRT or Supplements?

Question
Hi!  I'm a 52 year old very active woman. I have tried to manage menopause without hormones and my Family doctor checked my levels last week.  My estrogen was 25, LH 32.2 and FSH 51.7.  But I have no energy anymore and feel incredibly depressed.  In your expert opinion, do you feel I need HRT or supplements of some kind?  Thank you for your advice!

Answer
If you feel like you have no energy, you may be suffering from some degree of anemia and may need some iron supplementation. You are definitely menopausal, but should only go on HRT if you have flashes, flushes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, etc. Weakness or depression can be treated with other medication. Discuss it with your gynecologist.
