Understanding TTP and Irregular Periods: Causes & Management

I have a blood disorder call TTP and i been on prodnisone since may and august i skip my period and start on sept. 13 and been off and on ever since then

What are you reffering to when you say TTP. Is it Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura? Is it another of the platelet disorders? You have to be more specific. In any event, the prednisone should not cause you to have irregular periods. A cycle is considered normal if it is 21-35 from the beginning of one period until the beginning of the next period. If you have irregular periods or are missing your periods, you should consider starting birth control pills in order to regulate your cycle to a 28 day cycle. You have to discuss this with your hematologist.
