Understanding a Tilted Uterus: Causes, Symptoms & Potential Concerns

Question
I am 30 years old and have had one miscarrage and a D&C following and then I had a child which is now 4 years old.  Then three years later I miscarried agian.  I have just had an ultra sound done for cramping in my lower abdominal and found that i have several cysts on both ovaries.  But I also have a tilted uterus.  Well the last two obgyn's have told me that my uterus is bent almost dubble not just tilted.  I was wandering what problems my occur from this?  And is this a reason why it's hard for me to get pregnat and carry full term?

Answer
A tilted uterus (even one that is retroverted and retroflexed) will not prevent you from conceiving. However, due to the fact that the bulk of the uterus is pressing on your rectum, you may have some discomfort during intercours.  As long as semen is deposited into the vagina, the sperm should be able to find their way to the cervix, even if the uterus is tilted quite severely.
