DXM and Pregnancy: Potential Risks to Fetal Development

can dxm(dextromethorphan hydrobromide) affect the fetal growth and development...i was ill and i took an extreme amount of cough medicine with the main active ingredient dxm.im in my 8th to 9th week of pregnancy and id like to know if that would have affected the fetus. please answer as soon as possible. thank you

Hello Kristin. I cannot find any specific info about the effects of this medication during the first trimester. Your pharmacist may have more detialed info- ask him/her. There is nothing you can do about it now- unless you are prepared to abort. Sorry I couldn't be of more help- Cheri.
