Armpit Lump During Pregnancy: Causes & What to Do

Hello Dr. Rich,

I found a small lump in my right armpit. It is not painfull and I can squeeze it without it hurting me. I am 4 months pregnant. Should I be freaking out as much as I am now, or is this just possible a swollem lymph node like all the books say it should be?

It could be a lymph node. However, it should not be enlarged. You would need to be examined to make sure that there is nothing in the breast. Another possibility is ectopic breast tissue. As the breasts enlarge with pregnancy, these little sites of misplaced breast tissue can also enlarge.
