Understanding Prominent Findings in Your Mammogram: What to Do Next

Question
My mammo results say Nodule in the upper left breast appears more prominent on current study. nodularity posteriorly within the right breast also more prominent than prior exam. I have family history of breast cancer, colon and liver all which are deceased. should I be worried about my mammo results?

Answer
I think that your mammographies should be complemented by MRI & ultrasound breast scans and that all unclear lesions (for example the nodule in your upper left breast) should be checked by at least needle biopsies. That should not be difficult in Texas as MD Anderson Cancer Center performs thousands of them every year! Good luck!
