Home Pregnancy Test Timing After Ovulation - What to Expect

Question
Hi there, I was induced to ovulate by injection on Tuesday the 10th.  I go in for a blood test to see if I am pregnant on Monday the 16th.  Do you think it is too early for a home pregnancy test to detect anything?  Thank you!
Amber :)

Answer
A home pregnancy test will not show a positive result until 14-21 days after the day of conception. If you had ovulated around May 10, then the earliest that a home pregnancy test will show a positive result would be after May 24. A blood test for pregnancy may be accurate a bit earlier (around 10 days after conception). If you ovulated on May 10, it is too early for a pregnancy test on the 16th. I would suggest waiting.
