QuestionI am 23 years old, and pregnant with my first child. I am 15 weeks along and have a yeast infection. It seemed to be normal, white/yellowish color, clumpy discharge, no odor, itchy,etc... and I have had it for about a week. My Dr. prescribed Terconazole Vaginal Cream 0.8%. Today is my second out of three days on it and the discharge that has been coming out with the cream today and yesterday is clumpy and a light lime green color. Still no odor. Is this normal?
AnswerIf you do, in fact, have a yeast infection, the Terconazole cream will get rid of it. I prever the seven day regimen rather than the three day regimen because it seems to eradicate the infection better. However, see what happens. Sometimes, if there is a bacterial overgrowth in the vagina, you can get some green tinge to the discharge. If you do not get relief within a week, get a culture of your vagina to see if you have a bacterial vaginosis. It can be treated during pregnancy with Cleocin cream or Flagyl cream.
