Brown Discharge in Early Pregnancy: Causes & When to Worry

Dear doctor,
I am experiening some brown discharge with mucus but no abdominal pain. This usually comes in the toilet paper when I wipe out. This has happened twice.I also experienced a very small streak of red blood with the mucus.
Is this normal in pregnancy or does it indicate something serious?
Also please suggest if I need to take bed rest?

This can be more than a possibility. Brown discharge may occur with more than 1 diagnoses. The simplest are threatened abortion which needs complete bed rest. The other is missed abortion which needs no delay in diagnosis. It can also be associated with extrauterine pregnancy.

I recommend transvaginal ultrasound for proper diagnosis.
