Postpartum Abdominal Pain After Vaginal Birth: Potential Causes & Concerns

Question
i was just wondering,i had a baby 2 weeks ago,and it was my third child,it was a vaginal birth,he had given some problems ,he had the cord wrapped around his neck and also came with both shoulders at the same time.now i'm a very petite girl, now for the past week i have been experiencing extreme abdominal pain in my right side only.i do not have my appendix and it isn't my bowels.my midwife had thought that my placenta was in tact, now if it wasn't and there is still some there what procedure do they use to remove it and what are the warning signs for it?

Answer
There are a lot of things that could be wrong, and some of them are serious (like a partial retained placenta). You should be seen by a doctor. If you don't have an ob, you should go to an emergency room - preferably one with an obstetrics residency program
