Pregnancy Symptoms at 36 Weeks: Engaged Baby & Lower Back Pain - Seeking Advice
QuestionThe first day of my last menstrual period was on 9-17-05 . do you think something is wrong because I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me that the babys head is engage . this morning i woke up with lower back pain and when I sneeze or yawn or try to urinate its painfull bellow my belly button. It also hurts to walk and I dont Know whats happening. Im only 36 weeks preg and due on June 24 . And have had no problems in my pregnancy . Can u please tell me what do u think is wrong.
AnswerAt 36 weeks gestation, it is common for the baby to be engaged. This means that the biparietal diameter of the baby's skull is at the level of the isheal spines in the pevis. Once you are engaged,the baby will remain in the vertex position and not change to a breech. It is a good thing.Take tylenol for any pain.Nothing is wron.
