QuestionHi, my age is 34. 2 kids and the first day of my last period was 10/15/05. I've been having lower pelvic pressure with occasional urinary frequency but i always have the sensation that i have to urinate. I'm not in any pain but i notice the symptoms get a little worse the day after having sex. I've been to the dr's, no vagina infections, no std's, urine test are normal, normal pelvic ultrasound. The urologist just had me to another urine test which came out normal, told me that i should just take some ibuprofen, do kegel exercises and take warm baths. I don't feel any better, i'm starting to get depressed. Should I seek a second opinion from another urologist?
Thanks for you time,
Vivian
AnswerIf you have pressure, urinary frequency, and urgency, it certainly sounds like a bladder infection or a urinary tract infection. You should perform a urine culture. If it shows less than 100,000 colonies of bacteria, it is negative. I would agree to try the ibuprofen, but if it persists with a negative culture, I would consult a urologist again.
