Pregnancy Nausea & Vomiting at 38 Weeks: Is It Normal?
Question I am 38 weeks pregnant with my second baby. For the past 2 days I have not been able to eat very much or keep anything down. I have a lot of loose stools (which isn't unsual due to my gallbladder removal surgery 5 months ago) and have started to vomit. Is this normal? I didn't go through this with my first child which I delivered at 36 1/2 weeks. I saw my OB Tuesday and she said that everything looks fine other than slightly higher blood pressure. Any ideas or suggestions?
AnswerIf you are complaining of nausea, vomiting, difficulty in keeping any food down, and diarrhea, you should consult an internist (internal medicine doctor). This may all be due to pressure of the baby on your intestines, but you may possibly have a viral syndrome. Check it out.
