QuestionA d and c was performed in feb and was thought to be successful until 2months after when the lady stomach was getting big.The scan result confirmed there is a 4 months baby in her womb. How possible? Can one of the twins survive, wit or without complications?
Answerwaxooy,
Yes, this can definitely happen. The abortionist gets one baby, and is unaware of the other. The cases I know about, the second baby was carried to term successfully and born normal. I am not aware of a case, personally, where there were complications or something serious happened to the other baby.
Is the lady currently pregnant at 4 months? The doctor should watch for the possible miscarriage or prematurity of the second child, because the abortion will have weakened the cervix. If this happens, the cervix can be stitched or tied shut. But there are some risks, as I have mentioned.
I hope all goes well with her. Let me know how this turns out. I'll say a little prayer for her and her baby.
