Gestational Diabetes: Symptoms, Testing, and Diagnosis

Question
what are the signs and symptoms of these disease?

Answer
During pregnancy,  we test your glucose at 28 weeks to determine if you have gestational diabetes. You drink a load of glucose (100gm) and  wait one hour and have your blood drawn. If the results are greater than 40, you will be sent for a three hour glucose tolerance test. If three are more than 2 abnormal values in the three hour test, you are diagnosed with gestational diabetes. There are really no symptoms, but you mauy be put on a special diet. As long as  you keep your  glucose within the allowed range, all will be well. When you deliver, your blood sugar immediately retuirns to normal.
