QuestionI Posted the former question (below) a few minutes ago. Please note I am experiencing the pain under my RIGHT breastbone not my left! Apologies!
"The first day of my last menstrual period was on Oct 23, 2005.
I am 31 weeks. For the past four days I have experienced a "stinging" pain under my left breastbone which worsens when I am in bed/trying to sleep. It is tender to the touch. Not sure if this is just as a result of being less room and baby pushing stuff around.
Also, I have noticed the baby has been moving less over the last few days. I felt one strong kick this morning but that's it in 2 days. I tried the usual lying down, drinking a sugary drink - but nothing, usually this works for me.
Should I be concerned?"
Answerat 32 weeks gestation, there is less movement becuase t here is less space for the baby to move. You should first eat a meal. Then lie down and see how long it takes to feel ANY fetal movement (rolling, hicsups, kicks, etc). You should feel around 4 movements within ten hours. If you have any doubts., call uyour doctor and have a non stress test. Wheile the test is going on, when you feel any movements, you press a button. If they do not find any movement, they will send you for a biophysical profile. If you are having pain in your right upper quadrant, you may have some gall bladder problem or stones. It could also merely be the bsby pushing up on your diaphram. Call your doctor.
