Is lymphadenectomy therapeutic or diagnostic in gynecologic oncology?and why?

Usually, if the doctor feel an enlarged lymph node, tjhe first thing that is done is a lymph biopsy. If the area is benign on biosy, we ust watch the area. If it is abnormal, and a lymphadenectopy is diagnosti. It may also be therapeutic, but a complete workup must be done in followup.
