QuestionHi, I am starting to get pretty desperate for an answer to so strange, and quite annoying, symptoms. Okay, so I'm 18-years-old and I'm female. I have had two reconstructive knee surgeries in the past, along with Mononucleosis and Lyme Disease last year. Starting last month, I noticed a large, painful lymph node under my ear on the left side. I believe it's in the cervical region of lymph nodes. Though, since then, the pain has gone away and now I have a hard, immobile, bump left. Also, it has popped up on the other side as well. The right side lymph node, however, is larger (about the size of an olive) and is deep. Along with these swollen lymph nodes, I have 1 more in my groin, and 4(or so) more in my underarms, closest to my breasts. The symptoms that have come up with those are: weight loss (17 pounds), loss of appetite, sweaty feet, weakness (my knees give out and it gets hard to carry my nephew), SEVERE insomnia, tiredness the whole day, tension headaches (about 2-3 times a week), and chest pain (sternum area). I have been to the doctor and the ER already. All they could tell me was that my blood tests were normal. Do you have any idea of what's going on? I'm desperate and miserable.
AnswerThe "lymph node" near your ear could be a cyst also, it is really hard to tell sometmes, but with your syptoms, I would probably take out one of the lymph nodes and have it analyzed.... keep up with your doctor and push them to do something, even if it is referring you to a specialist, such as an ear nose throat doctor who could easily biopsy one of the nodes........
Get some answers... you deserve them. "Blood tests normal" is not an answer.... I would want a copy of all lab tests to make sure the right things were ordered.
