Delayed Period After Tubal Ligation: Possible Causes & What to Do

Question
Ok here is the thing I had my period starting May 20 and ending about 4-5 days later. I did not recieve my menstrual for the month of June. It is now July 5 and still nothing. I had my tubes clamped(metal) 3 years ago. I am always on time and never late I did take a home preg test and it was negative. Then about a week later took a blood test per my nurse and still negative. I have a little cramping here and there and my breast just now started to hurt. They usaully start to hurt about 2weeks before i start so there timing is kinda off. Could you please give me any information on what the problem could be. I don't want to be a hypochondriac about this.
thanks so much

Answer
If your last period started on May 20, you would have ovulated on June 17. If you did not get your period by June 24, a pregnancy test would be accurate. If it was done after June 24 and was negative, and the blood test was negative, you are not pregnant, especially if you had your tubes tied three years ago. It is highly unlikely that you could become pregnant if your tubes were tied three years ago. Make an appointment with your gyn and take a course of Provera to induce your periods.
