Aviane Birth Control Pill: Starting Day & Effectiveness - Expert Advice

i have a few ?s about the pill.. first off my ob gave the pill aviane and i was reading the instructions and said i can start on day one or the next sunday.. which do u prefere? and whats the difference? ok heres the second one. mine is a low hormone are they as efective as the others? thanks very much,

Most birth control pills today are of the low-hormone type. They are as effective as those with more estrogen. Don't worry.  I like the Sunday start because it is easy to remember. I have all my patients start the pill on the Sunday following the first day of their periods. Then, they will always end their pack on a Saturday and start the new pack on a Sunday. It is really much easier to remember tnan any other day of the week.
