Heel Numbness and Pain During Pregnancy: Causes & Relief

Both of my heels from under the inside of the ankle to mid undersize of my feet are numb.  When I been over to say Pick something up off the floor, I have a cool, tearing sensation in the same location.  Both heels are very achy, with  and without shoes.  I don't have any swelling and can't say that I have any sciatic nerve pain.  30wks, normal BP, and no other Pregnancy related issues.  What is causing this

What you are experiencing is a common complaint during pregnancy.

Often, ladies will complain of numbing, or pulling sensations down various parts of their legs, but you complain of heels.

This is caused by 2 things infact. Your baby is getting rather big now, so additional pressure could be added against your spinal cord, pinching nerves. This will cause the sensations you are feeling.

Also, additional weight gain will also pinch nerves in your back and leg area which will also cause numbness, and discomfort. Most usually, once the baby is born, things return to normal and the majority have no further issues.
