QuestionI found out this Wednesday that I am pregnant, and Saturday we are going to Spain. Is it safe for me to fly, what can happen. what can cause a miscarriage when you fly.
I am 24 years old and my husband is 28. We were trying for 6 months to conceive a baby, and now that I am pregnant I do not want to have a miscarriage because we have to fly so long.
Please tell me your advice.
Thank you.
AnswerHi Ioana :)
In most cases, in early pregnancy you are free to go on vacation, and fly without risk of miscarriage.
The only time a doctor may advise you not to, is if you are having complications with your pregnancy. However, if your pregnancy is normal, then usually they give the okay to fly.
Usually, as a lady gets into her third trimester, doctors will rule against flying trans-atlantic. Just in the event the lady does have complications, or goes into labour, they would rather she be close to her hospital, and physicians.
I would definately speak to your doctor about it, before going to Spain. I would imagine that you would get the go ahead, aslong as your pregnancy is healthy, and normal without complications.
Hope this answers your question, and thanks for writing!
Happy Holidays!
