Fetal Heartbeat Not Detected at 15 Weeks: What Does It Mean?

Question
i went to my last drs appt at 15 weeks five days and he couldnt find a heartbeat with the doppler he said something about a tilted uterus ive had no spotting or bleeding at all do i need to worry?

Answer
Hi Breanda :)

I wouldnt be so concerned at the moment. If you have a tilted uterus, depending on the severity, it can be difficult to detect the babies heartbeat. It also depends how the baby is positioned as well. I remember many times, it took forever for my doctor to find my sons heartbeat, and I didnt have any uterine issues.

I am sure as precaution, he will send you in for an ultrasound so a visual can be seen. But for now, I wouldnt be greatly concerned at all. This does happen, time to time, and the majority of the time its because the baby is in an awkward position.

I hope this answers your question, and thanks for writing :)
