QuestionHi Brenda
2 days ago I had browish discarge on the underwear and pink when wiped. The amount was just the size of the little figure. And I know that it happended between 2:00pm and 5:30pm. It stopped for a day.
And today, I noticed some again, less amount and the same colour.
I called my doctor who was on vacation, and the nurse told me that it might be due to the vanishing twins(it died at 8 weeks and it is still inside my womb). She said I should see a doctor when it is bright-red, but isn't it too late then?
Is that come from the vanishing twins? I have on and off mild cramping only. Do I need to see a doctor immediately?
We stopped intercourse 3 months ago. I am 38 and at 14 weeks 4 days.
And is it OK to go to cinema? I have stopped all entertainment since pregnant, and now would like to relax and want to watch a movie with my husband. Is that appropriate to go to cinema? the browish discharge made me nervous.
Thanks
AnswerDear Nita,
This is not unusual for women who have experienced VTS (Vanishing Twin Syndrome) in the 1st trimester. Many of these women experience some symptoms such as mild cramping and/or bleeding that would otherwise make us concerned about a miscarriage possibility, but the surviving fetus remains unaffected.
The fact that you are not experiencing bright red bleeding or severe cramping is a good sign. I would not be overly concerned about the periodic spotting you are having. The brown color usually indicates old blood, so I would agree with the office nurse that this is most likely related to the VTS.
By all means, see a movie! It's 2-3 hours sitting in a theater chair relaxing with your husband. It's really no different than sitting in a chair at home watching TV.
I hope this information has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
