QuestionI'm 37 years old, i had my first son at 21 and was by ac-section because i never had a dilatation, the doctor induce me with the pitosin but still i have no pain, no dilatation.
I was 30 when i had my second son i mentioned this to the Doctor since i started my monthly appointments their answer was, no all pregnancies are the same i was supposed to due on 12/31/00 but they sended me home because i have no pain and no contractions one week was sended home again on 01/14/01 i wasn't feeling the baby i went again and they still told me to go because there were not dilatation or pain I'll try to explain but nobody seems like knowing this issue, finally this Doctor saw me crying and check me up he found out that i was having contractions without pain and he decide to go with my "second" ac-section.
Now I'm pregnant again and very scared because now I'm not that young to handle a past due pregnancy.
My question is...
Do you know the name of this estrange situation so i can mention it to my future obstetrician I'm only 3 weeks and I'm about to start looking for a private obstetrician, in the hospital seems like they really don't hear to you. If you know what I mean
AnswerMonica,
You have what is called a Failure to Dilate. It is your right to refuse to have to go through labor. With you have already having two cesarean sections, most doctors would not want you to try to have a vaginal delivery. It is too dangerous, as you are more at risk for uterine rupture due to the scaring. You should talk to your doctor and ask when he or she would schedule a c-section. Some doctor's will do it right on your due date, others will go earlier or later. If you start having regular contractions, they will section you earlier. I hope this helps. Good luck!
