Pregnancy Symptoms: Urinary Issues & Pelvic Pain - What to Expect

Question
Hi,
I am almost 9 weeks pregnant, I am having constant feeling of needing to urinate but when I get there I cant go or it just trickles out, when I get a sudden urge to go there is however a bit more (still only trickling out though). I have mild lower back pain & now sore muscles in my bottom, I'm guessing from sitting on the toilet to much.
I have 4 other children that where all premmy 18yr 5ks prem no probs till early labour, 14yr twins 7wks prem also no probs till early labour, 8mth old 7 wks prem due to pre-eclampsia, before the pre-eclampsia everything was fine. I had a prolapsed uterus after my twins, I'm wondering if the prolapse has anything to do with this feeling & will it go away as the baby gets bigger. I have had test & no infection there, I am making another appointment with doc but is sometimes hard to get in.

Answer
Dear Sadie,

Well... it certainly does sound like symptoms related to a urinary tract infection. Maybe it is simply inflammation of the area, but I would definitely try to get back in there or at least drop off a urine specimen. Make sure that the specimen is not too dilute when you give it to them also. Unfortunately, I cannot promise you that the discomfort will be relieved as the baby gets bigger and puts even more pressure on the pelvic area. Hopefully, your doctor will be able to determine the cause and treat it.

I hope this has helped you and I'm sorry I could not answer your question more completely. I wish you well.
