Possible Pregnancy After Delayed Period: A 17-Year-Old's Concern

i am 17years old.first day of my last manstural period was february 7 and it ended on 12th of feb(5days normal).most importantly that period was late as first day of my second last period was 28th of december.on 4th of feb i-e 3days before my periods i had intercourse with my bf after that i never had any sex act.now i wanna ask that is there any real chance of me getting pregent,someone suggested me that once one get normal periods she can,t get pregnant,how much accurate that statement is.please reply as i am in deep problem i can,t sleep properly due to my worry of getting pregnant.i will be really obliged

For all practical purposes, you should not think of ANY day of the month as completely safe - in terms of not getting pregnant. The only way to make sure that you won't get pregnant is to not have sexual intercourse. That is probably the best policy for you at your age. I have seen literally hundreds of young ladies like yourself after they have become pregnant. ALL of them would have given ANYTHING to be able to go back in time and avoid the pregnancy. Pregnancy at your age would completely change your life.

Again, the only way to make sure you don't get pregnant is to avoid intercourse.

You probably didn't get pregnant this time, but if you continu to have intercourse (and then worry about it after the fact) I can assure you that you will get pregnant sometime in your teens. Young ladies like yourself are VERY fertile.

If you insist on having intercourse, you should use birth control AND condoms.
