Pregnancy Question: Ovulation Timing & Conception Timeline - Seeking Advice

Question
Thank you for your time in advance and my sanity! i apologize it is long but im going to give you as much information to get the best guess. we have been trying to conceive since my 4yr old was born but more a long the lines of ...let us have fun and when it happens great!... so no stress because we know we are very blessed to have 2DC!

First off me and me husband regularly have sex. My last period that i am sure was a normal period was April 8 and i am positive I ovulated April 22. i thought june 1st may have been a period but it was lighter and shorter and at the time i did not seem to think much of it. i was going home and sleeping everyday waking up for dinner and going back to sleep for at least the month of may and first weeks of june and had "my normal" PMS symptoms. the 27th June i began to have a bad lower backache, crampy, sluggish  and started to pee a lot, the next day i started to have heartburn (i never have it normally) and felt nausea in the am in addition to the other symptoms. On the 24th my cervix seemed to be hanging out right in the middle and it didn't feel hard or soft..so kind of middle middle. 25 the same. all the symptoms still going on in addition to sore and achy boobs,  darken aerolas, headaches all the time, super bloating and i can no longer stand bell peppers and broccoli-they taste like dirt! (and im a vegetarian). on the night of the 26th  i had a little light red blood that spotted unitl early morning of 28 (so little more than 1 full day) but as it ended it was brown - def. not a period. my cervix on the 26th was highER and firmER but not high and firm for me just more than it was on the 27th it kept going higher and began to soften -closed! 28th symptoms also include swollen and leaking boobs (when i try to express it) 29th no more spotting but all the same symptoms1 30th AF was due and she has not shown up!!!! i took 5test and BFN..on the 30th i got a very faint BFP...  cervix is still high soft and closed tightly! four days ago my cervix became swollen/enlarged, high, closed tightly, and soft. discharge is watery, and white . there seems to be A LOT OF TI! i have been to the doctor 2x and the urine keeps coming up negative. i have a pelvic exam in a week but id like to have a piece of mind ASAP. i have only had 1 faint positive..
i looked into false pregnancy but i am not sure if im pregnant and im not "crazily" trying to become pregnant.... but it is always welcome (like i mentioned earlier) so that seemed to rule it out.
also (since i have had 2 children before) my uterus is just above my pelvic bone (about 1 finger width) and it is "hard" like a soft ball.
i Just dont understand why i keep getting a negative...although i did not get a positive until 18 weeks with my son and 28 with my daughter. why?? i have searched online and never found anything. Please give me you opinion, advice and anything else you could do for me to make me not feel so CRAZY!!!! thank you so so much!!!!!  Cola

OH BTW when i checked my cervix it went from a light 'pretty' pink to a dk redish/blueish (not quite a def. blue or purple yet...but much darker )

today i am 15 DAYS LATE AND NO AF ....AM I CRAZY???... i know your mind can make things happen but i was not thinking i was pregnant until i felt symptoms.. thats what made me question it.  Anything would help me here!

Answer
Dear Necola,

LOL...for someone who isn't "crazily" trying to get pregnant, you seem really anxious about this!  :-)

Here's the thing... the symptoms you describe are hormonal in nature and can also be related to hormone fluctuations within your cycle. That is why it so difficult to "diagnose" a pregnancy based on symptoms alone. You can either wait for the next cycle to see if your periods resume or have your doctor's office do a quantitative blood pregnancy test (serum beta hCG). That test will give an actual amount of hCG in your bloodstream rather than just a positive/negative result. Any amount of 25 mIU/ml or more would be considered positive for pregnancy.

If you have a history of getting very late positives on even quantitative blood pregnancy tests, then you will likely need to wait through at least another cycle and, if you still have not had a period, your doctor may order an ultrasound to confirm/rule out a pregnancy.

I hope this has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well and apologize for the delay in answering. I usually try to get these answered in 48-72 hours but have had a very hectic week.
