Possible Pregnancy: Understanding Negative Tests & Uncertainty

Question
I have 3 children, and my last period was at the very end of August (maybe first week in Sept). I took two home pregnancy tests (one last Thurs at around 5 pm and another Friday 5:30 AM) both came back bright pink very quickly. Went to a medicenter Sat afternoon, the doctor took a Urine test and told me it was negative. He told me if I don't get my period in 2 weeks I am pregnant as he was not sure. It was not a very good experience. I then asked him if we could do a blood test? are they 100% accurate? he said yes and sent me to the lab. I found out last night it was negative. I don't get this at all as I feel pregnant. I have so many signs of it and having 3 children I do have a clue as to what it feels like obviously. I am so drop dead tired I can go to sleep instantly just by closing my eyes (*sitting up in a chair even)I fall into the deepest of sleeps and my sleep is NOT normally like that ever.
Please offer me your insight into this and what you suggest I do.Does it sound as if Iam pregnant? Are blood tests not always right?

Answer
If your last period started in the first week in September, then you would not have ovulated until, at least, 14 days later. If you did, indeed, become pregnant around September 14, then a pregnancy test would not show a positive result until 14-21 days later.   The best time to take a urine pregnancy test is seven days after you miss your next period. Your next period was due to start on September 30, so the best time to take a pregnancy test is on October 7. I would suggest that you get a pregnancy test that shows lines or a +or-. The lines have to be dark and bold. Faint lines are not accurate. However, if the blood test for pregnancy was negative, it is really very accurate.  The earliest symptoms of pregnancy are breast tenderness, fatigue, and nausea. There are no other signs or symptoms of early pregnancy. Your fatigue may be due to iron deficiency anemia. I would suggest getting a CBC to check this out.
